Train Your Mind To Be Productive
If you are struggling to keep up with the endless tasks or simply struggling to get started then I’m here to help!
We pack our days so full of tasks that not only fill our days but overfill our minds.
Productivity isn’t just about how much you can cram into a certain time period, productivity is about using your time wisely.
I also want to add, whilst working on becoming more productive don’t forget to take time for yourself to relax and reenergise.
This might seem counter-productive but self-care is just as important if not more, we must take care of ourselves in order to be able to take care of everything else.
How To Be More Productive At Home
How many times have you walked past that book on your windowsill that should be on the bookcase or that smudge on the wall you notice every time you walk up the stairs?
I’m sure like most of us you have more important or more interesting things to be doing, and the little things get left to build up into 100 things that never get done.
This way of selectively ignoring and putting things off becomes a habit that seeps into other “more important” parts of your life.
This is where training your mind to become more productive can drastically change your life.
Below I have listed the 4 must-do steps to improve your productivity.
4 Steps To Improve Productivity
The number one way to be more productive in the bigger things is to be more productive in the smaller things.
Limit distractions.
If you know you’re easily distracted by the temptation of looking at your phone when you should be doing coursework or working on that dream project, put your phone on silent or out of immediate reach.
Notice your distractions and remove them.
This is a crucial step in becoming more productive.
Stop making excuses.
This has some common sense to it, don’t make life increasingly hard for yourself, but make the effort to get the small stuff done.
It comes so easily to us to put things off, especially with the amount of distraction around us so start taking the actions instead of making the excuses.
If there isn’t an easy solution take the hard road and if there isn’t a road build one.
Set your intentions
Set intentions for what is it you want to be more productive in, and, what you need to be doing to achieve that.
For example, if you wish to be more productive in managing work tasks with home life figure out where you are struggling and how you can improve and manage this in a more effective way to suit your lifestyle.
This helps remove the procrastination stage by having clear and simple intentions.
Start doing!
The next time you walk past the book on the windowsill pick it up and put it back where it belongs, anytime you see something that needs doing …. do it.
It seems like something we would tell our kids, to get them to stop leaving toys around the house but I’m as guilty as any 10-year-old for putting things down with the intention of moving them later and later never comes.
Simply doing, might seem a pointless bit of advice but give it ago and see how easy it becomes to change your habits and ignite that productive doing attitude!
